I went to Sababttus River in Lisbon Falls this morning and walked the Papermill Trail. I never get tired of going to the river, there is always something new to photograph and I’ve been going there for over 25 years. These moosewoods are currently blossoming, I’ve seen them in the past but they are on the opposite side of the river from the trail. I’ve never gotten near them usually because of high water. This year the water is extremely low for spring time. Two factors contribute to this, the lack of rain we’ve had and the dam in Lisbon washed out last summer. For the top image I used my polarizing filter and a four stop ND fliter to get the soft water.
Below is a close up of the moosewood flowers.
